“Stayed a night here on our way to Indiana Dunes National Park (just around the corner from the motel). The room was clean and comfortable, and check in/out was super easy. The coolest part was the fire pit in front of the motel. It got down to 49 degrees and it was pleasant eating our breakfast over a warm and toasty fire”

“This motel was super nice, really clean, and decorated well. The coffee was delicious, and the bedding was so cozy. The bed was super soft and comfy too. We had a great night! This motel definitely gives you more than you'd expect for the price. Totally worth the money. We'll be booking here again!”

“The most adorable motel I have been to! Offering all the amenities you could think of including firewood and a group pitt to make me make friends now & forever! A & S's right in the center of everything that you need, 4 miles from the Dunes, 4 miles from Michigan, the best vintage shop you'll find.! The most genuine kindest, most helpful community.I've been a part of in a long time. I look forward to my return! Thank you so much this is a phenomenal stay! AL & Sallys is clean, the most well kept hospitality facility, I think i've ever been to. Welcoming. Comfortble. Animals. Welcome not to mention the beautiful backyard with twinkling Lights and a playground in basketball courts. And tennis rackets and mini picnic tables. The coolest place I have visited in indiana so far.And I achieved Mt. Baldy. Thank you so much for sharing your amenity filled luxury room with me. I look forward to my next stay! Deanna was amazing and helpful, resourceful always just a rext away! 6 out of 5 Stars”

“Unfortunately we had some issues getting into the motel room. Our code did not work and it needed quiet some creativity to reach someone. No one was at the office and under the number posted no one answered either. After almost 45min we were able to get into our room. Next surprise was that it was hot in the room. Heating was blasting and it took forever to cool down the room. The room itself looked was somewhat newly renovated. The bath still hab its old charm when it first was build. The room was clean in general but on further inspection window frames for example were very dirty. But we must say that we never felt uncomfortable. The bed frame was not so stable and the mattress was very very soft. Maybe it could use a new one. Overall we had a good stay and value-for-money ratio was good. We picked the motel since it left the impression that it was run by private and would have a personal touch. Unfortunately if we hadn’t had the problem with the accessibility we would never meet anyone since you get a send an access code to enter your room.”

“We stayed at Al and Sally’s for two nights in the family room. Enjoyed the extra space traveling as a family of 3 plus our dog. The property is nicely remodeled and overall well maintained, cute retro roadside motel/beach town vibe in the decor. We spent some time around the fire pit which was stocked with wood and even with a lighter. The motel is located on a somewhat busy road and cars drive fast, so you’d want to be careful with small kids and pets. There is a commuter train that passes by right behind the motel, but it wasn’t bothersome; the car traffic on the road was louder than the train. We would stay here again if we were in Michigan City in the future.”

“We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage part and it was fantastic. The place is huge with a great well equipped kitchen and lots of dinning space. 2 bathrooms is a bonus. We loved the firepit where you can meet your fellow travelers. It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but it is doable. There is a good size parking lot at central beach and the one in downtown Michigan City is beautiful. The place was very clean. Only complaint would be with no management on site response time to text messages should be much quicker”
